Program Overview

Earn a Master of Social Work (MSW) at Youngstown State University and become a leader in the field of social work. Rooted in the values of social justice, equity, and community empowerment, our CSWE-accredited program prepares students to tackle complex social challenges and support those who need it most.

Students will gain both classroom knowledge and real-world experience, with field education playing a central role. Supervised placements help students apply what they learn, build confidence, and make a meaningful impact from day one.

This program is ideal for students with a background in social work, psychology, sociology, or related fields. If you are driven to help others and ready to lead in human services, we’ll give you the tools to do it.

Graduates are equipped for advanced roles in clinical therapy, community leadership, and policy advocacy. The program strongly believes in improving lives by creating stronger, more just, communities.
