Program Overview

Provides foundational knowledge and practical skills in modern operating systems and computing information systems, implementation and troubleshooting of networks, design, implementation, and management of databases, interactive software and web programming, information assurance and computer security, and computer interface design. Graduates of IT AAS degree program may continue their studies toward their bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (200-301 CCNA) Certification

Through a series of courses—CSIS 3782: Cisco Networking Academy 1, CSIS 3783: Cisco Networking Academy 2, and CSIS 3784: Cisco Networking Academy 3—students gain hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in networking concepts. This certification equips students with the skills to install, configure, and manage medium-sized routed and switched networks, troubleshoot network issues, and ensure the smooth operation of essential network protocols. Students also build foundational knowledge in security, automation, and programmability, preparing them for diverse roles in network administration.

CompTIA A+ (220-1101/220-1102) Certification

Students who complete CSIS 2620: System Configuration and Maintenance are prepared to earn the CompTIA A+ certification, the industry standard for IT support roles. This coursework focuses on essential hardware and software troubleshooting, configuring operating systems, and managing mobile devices and cloud-based technologies. Students gain the skills needed to provide technical support, ensure operational efficiency, and work effectively in IT service environments.

CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) Certification

The combination of CSIS 3755: Information Assurance and CSIS 3756: Security Design equips students with the knowledge and skills to achieve the CompTIA Security+ certification. This program covers critical aspects of cybersecurity, including threat analysis, risk management, network security, and compliance. Students learn to design and implement security solutions, identify and mitigate potential threats, and apply best practices to safeguard data and systems in both enterprise and cloud environments.

Oracle Database Foundations (1Z0-006) Certification

By completing CSIS 3722: Development of Databases, students are prepared for the Oracle Database Foundations certification.
