Program Overview

The Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice program at Youngstown State University is designed to prepare students for careers in municipal, state, and private police agencies, as well as for roles in local, state, federal, and private correctional facilities. Students gain foundational knowledge and hands-on experience that enable them to evaluate the impact of the criminal justice system at its key subsystems—policing, courts, and corrections—apply relevant theories, and assess complex legal scenarios.
