ADN Admission Requirements:

  • We accept applications from our two locations: Youngstown Main Campus and Steubenville. 
  • Submit your official final high school transcript or GED Score Report to the YSU Records office.
  • Completion of high school Algebra and Chemistry with a grade “C” or better within the past 5 years.
  • Complete BIOL 1551 + L Anatomy and Physiology I + Lab, or an equivalent course, with a minimum grade of “C” within the past 5 years.
  • Complete ENGL 1550 Writing I, or an equivalent course with a minimum grade of a “C”.
  • Complete STAT 2625 Statistical Literacy & Critical Reasoning, or an equivalent course, with a minimum grade of a “C”. 
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.5.
  • Complete and pass the TEAS Test, adhering to official guidelines and score requirements.
  • Conduct current FBI and Ohio BCI background checks.

Before entering the next nursing class, initiate “ADN (AAS) Program Application” and “Major Declaration” for the ADN program. An admission committee reviews all applications based on established criteria, with applicants notified of their admission status via mail.
