Program Overview

Launch your career in medical imaging through the Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology program at Youngstown State University. This 22-month, on-campus program combines classroom learning, lab training, and clinical experience to prepare you for a rewarding role in diagnostic imaging and patient care. 

The program admits a new cohort each fall and spans five semesters, including a seven-week summer session dedicated to full-time clinicals. Students complete a total of 62 credit hours through a combination of academic coursework and hands-on clinical training. 

Graduates are prepared to: 

  • Perform as entry-level radiologic technologists 
  • Communicate effectively and apply critical thinking in clinical settings 
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior in patient care

 

Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to take the national certification exam through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)—a required credential for professional practice.
