Program Overview

Our Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program encompasses nine semesters of focused study, including three semesters on basic sciences and general education. From the spring semester of the second year, students embark on a journey through specialized dental hygiene courses.

Our comprehensive curriculum prepares students for a wide range of career options, such as clinical dental hygiene, public health, research and education. The curriculum includes:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Microbiology for Health Professions
  • Chemistry for Allied Health Sciences
  • Introduction to Professional Ethics
  • Advanced Dental Hygiene Practice

You will also gain valuable experience in administering local anesthesia, performing extra-oral and intra-oral exams, placing sealants, the application of fluoride therapy, and more.

Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take state, regional, and national board examinations. Successful completion allows you to apply for a license to practice dental hygiene as a registered dental hygienist.

As a dental hygienist, your work supports dental health education and preventive dental health programs in various settings like private dental practices, community health centers, and research facilities.
