DALS: Julia Betts

The YSU Department of Art presents a lecture by artist Julia Betts as part of the Department of Art Lecture Series.

Betts’ work combines sculpture, performance, and installation in her efforts to push a range of materials to the limits of their use while placing herself in unstable circumstances, creating metaphors of emotional and psychic vulnerability and demonstrations of intentional disarray. She is an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

Betts’ work, The Dams are Broken, is also exhibited as part of the Winter Art Exhibition in the McDonough Museum of Art.

Entry to this lecture is free and open to the public. The McDonough Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.

For more information, contact Katie Merrill, Cliffe College Coordinator of Community Engagement and Events, at 330.941.2307 or kamerrill@ysu.edu.
