Program Overview

Students in our BSAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology are prepared for planning, design, inspection, implementation, and direction of mechanical engineering projects, manufacturing processes, and equipment. Graduates of a BSAS degree program in MET obtain employment as mechanical engineers or engineering designers. In addition, students have opportunities for internships or co-ops with various companies to gain experience and income during their junior and senior years, which can set them apart from other job candidates when seeking a career upon graduation. Our graduates are also prepared to continue to pursue advanced degrees in majors, including Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Engineering.

In most states our graduates are qualified to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and then the Professional Engineers (PE) exam after sufficient work experience. In addition, we offer classes with specific certifications that can be obtained upon completing a course, such as 3D CAD and robotics.
