Discover the Power of Mathematical Thinking

Welcome to Youngstown State University’s Master of Science in Mathematics program, where students cultivate the analytical and computational skills needed to tackle today’s most complex challenges in education, research, and industry.

Program Overview

Our comprehensive 30-credit curriculum covers a variety of essential topics, including algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, geometry, topology, and statistics. Students have the option to pursue one of two tracks:

  1. Thesis Track: Designed for students interested in conducting research, culminating in the completion and defense of a master’s thesis.
  2. Non-Thesis Track: Ideal for students seeking advanced knowledge without the focus on research, culminating in the successful completion of a master’s project.

Both tracks allow flexibility for students to tailor their academic journey based on their interests and career aspirations.

Who is this Program For?
