Location: Bliss Hall, Youngstown State University 

Information Session: Join us in Bliss Hall for an information session. Learn about the exciting field of sports communication and discover how YSU prepares students for successful careers in this dynamic industry. We offer two Sports Communication tracks: one focused on sports PR and journalism and one focused on sports broadcasting.

Production Facilities Tour: After the session, enjoy a brief tour of our production facilities. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the spaces where broadcasts, interviews, and sports productions come to life. 

YSU Penguins vs. Duquesne Dukes: Then it is time for the day’s main event! You’ll be escorted to Stambaugh Stadium, also known as the Ice Castle, to watch the Youngstown State Penguins take on the Duquesne Dukes. Registered students will receive exclusive behind-the-scenes access, opportunities to connect with current students, and an insider’s look at game-day operations. 

This is your chance to explore the world of sports communication, connect with fellow students, and cheer on the YSU Penguins.

Register by Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to secure your spot. Registration is limited to the first 30 students. If you are unable to attend but would like to learn more about the program, email mearnheardt@ysu.edu for additional information and details about future opportunities. 

Interested in seeing more of YSU? The Admissions Office will offer an optional walking tour before the event. If you would like to participate, please indicate your interest on the registration form. Tour participants should meet the group in Sweeney Hall at 10:30 a.m.
