Our BSBA in Finance curriculum combines the academic rigor and real-world experience you need to become a financial leader capable of making a substantial impact in organizations and for individuals.

YSU’s Business Administration in Finance degree offers two distinct tracks to support your career aspirations:

  • The financial management track focuses on managing the finances of organizations.
  • The certified financial planner program track enables you to help individuals with their financial goals.

Each track provides a core business curriculum complemented by specific courses to set you on your unique path. Student organizations, supportive faculty, and internship opportunities provide the extra support and experience you need to succeed in your field.

Financial Management track

The Financial Management track is your roadmap to executive financial roles. Understand the reasons behind financial decisions that steer a corporation’s performance and its contribution to our economy.

Certified Financial Planner Track

If you’re intrigued by personal finance and investment planning, our Certified Financial Planner program pathway will help you navigate the nuances of different financial instruments, risk management, and personal investment strategies, advancing you toward the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.

What Can You Do With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance?

A business finance degree provides the educational background you need to join a thriving profession. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a strong outlook for financial analysts and personal financial advisors over the next decade, with job growth much faster than the average of all occupations.

Nearly all firms, government agencies, and organizations need financial managers to prepare financial reports, guide investment activities, and execute cash-management strategies to help organizations reach their long-term goals.

Certified financial planners are in high demand because many Americans are reaching retirement age. When you earn your BSBA in Finance at YSU, you will complete the coursework necessary for the CFP® certification examination.

Whichever track you choose, you will have the educational background to join our successful alumni.
